Built to Be Inspected

The architecture behind Akasiio, for architects, security officers and privacy officers. Everything on this page can be verified in your own environment.

Private and Sovereign: Five Layers, One Boundary

All five layers run in your cloud account. Two connections cross the boundary, and you control both.

GPU NodesCPU NodesRAM per NodeStorageNetwork

GPU and CPU node pools scale with demand and shrink outside clinic hours. Outbound traffic from clinical workloads is blocked by default.

Control planeDeploys into your account and receives health metrics only. It holds no credentials and has no route to your data.
Managed AI lane (optional)Commercial models such as Claude, GPT or Grok, called through a managed AI service (preferably your cloud provider’s, over a private connection) and billed per token. Reachable only by tasks with no patient data, with a monthly budget cap.
  • No Inbound AccessNo standing access role, no stored credentials. Changes arrive as approved releases through your own pipelines.
  • Health Metrics OnlyPrompts, outputs, documents and logs never leave. You can inspect the metrics flow or switch it off.
  • PortableRuns on the major public clouds or a private cloud, built on open standards.

Hybrid: The Right Model for Every Request

Akasiio is hybrid on two axes. A policy decides whether a request may use managed AI at all, and a confidence check decides how large a model it needs.

Axis One: Private or Managed

RequestClinician, Workflow or Scheduled Task
Data PolicySet by your hospital, enforced by the platform and logged
Patient data, or unsurePrivate LaneOpen-source models in your account, with no per-token fees. Outbound traffic blocked.
No patient dataManaged Lane (Optional)Commercial models such as Claude, GPT or Grok through a managed AI service, billed per token, called from an isolated workload with an allowlist and outbound identifier scanning.

Axis Two: Small or Large

Small Models, in ParallelA general and a medical model read each request side by side
Confidence CheckAgreement, sources and task risk decide: answer or escalate
Large Models, on EscalationComplex reasoning, disagreements and high-risk tasks

Hybrid Retrieval (RAG)

Retrieval-augmented generation grounds every answer in your own documents. Keyword and semantic search are combined, so drug names, doses and codes are found as reliably as concepts.

Citations to the Page

Each answer links to the document, page and passage behind it. Users see only documents they are allowed to see.

Numbers Read Twice

Values in scanned documents are extracted twice, independently. A mismatch or low confidence is flagged for review.

Speech in Many Languages

Medical speech recognition in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian and more runs inside your account. Uncertain drug names, doses and dates are flagged.

Open-Source for Clinical Work

Every model that sees patient data is open-source, runs on your infrastructure and changes only with your approval.

Efficient: Platform Engineering That Lowers the Cost of Every Answer

Owning your AI capacity only pays off if that capacity is engineered to stay lean. These are the levers the platform pulls for you.

Pay-per-use AI: cost rises with every request Private AI you build and staff yourself Akasiio: engineered to stay lean

Illustrative. Monthly cost (vertical) against monthly usage (horizontal); dots mark each break-even point.

  • Scale to ZeroAccelerators stay warm on a clinic-hours schedule and are released when idle.
  • Right-Sized AcceleratorsSmall models run on modest hardware; large hardware is used only by the large-model tier.
  • Accelerator SharingSeveral models, adapters and tasks share one accelerator.
  • Throughput OptimisationContinuous batching and reuse of repeated prompt context serve more requests per accelerator.
  • Discounted Capacity for Batch WorkDocument ingestion and backlogs run overnight on lower-cost capacity.
  • Cost Visibility per WorkloadSpend is attributed to each workflow inside your account, measured rather than estimated.

Proven: Evidence Before Every Release

Clinician ratings form a private benchmark that belongs to your hospital. Every model and configuration is measured against it.

Each release is a complete bundle (model, prompts, retrieval settings, guardrails and workflows), tested and promoted together. Every release records what changed, why, and who approved it.

Current: New Models and New Guidance, Adopted Safely

Staying current is a release like any other: tested first, then approved.

  • New ModelsEach new open model passes the release stages above before it replaces the current one.
  • New GuidanceThrough the optional managed AI lane, updates track guidelines and publications on topics you choose. They are reviewed and versioned before use.
  • Licensed Content RespectedOnly sources you are entitled to use are added, through official channels and within their terms.

Exclusive: What Your Hospital Owns

Everything that makes Akasiio yours is stored in your account, in standard formats.

  • Knowledge BaseYour protocols, guidelines and care pathways, indexed and versioned.
  • Adapted ModelsModels tuned to your terminology and reporting style, trained without personal data by default.
  • Benchmark and RecordsClinician ratings, release decisions and audit trails.

Workflow Agents, Supervised

  • Read-Only by DefaultWriting to a clinical system needs clinician approval.
  • BoundedLimits on steps, time and cost prevent loops and runaway spend.
  • Documents Are DataText inside uploaded files cannot change routing or permissions.

Standards-Based Integration

  • RecordsConnects through FHIR and the interfaces your EHR provides.
  • ImagingWorks with DICOM images and standard viewers.
  • Agreed per SystemIntegration scope is set during onboarding, one system at a time.

Compliance, Easier to Evidence

Your hospital remains the data controller and holds its accreditations. Akasiio supplies the evidence.

  • GDPR, HIPAA and Impact AssessmentsA security pack with data-flow diagrams, controls and test evidence for your privacy officer.
  • NEN 7510, ISO 27001 and Access LoggingAccess control, encryption and complete audit trails inside your environment, supporting European and North American security standards.
  • EU AI Act and MDRDecision support with human oversight and change records. Your hospital defines the intended use.
